Questions about the journey

Do I travel alone or in a group on the airplane to the program country?
This varies from departure to departure. As far as possible our students are booked in a group, but depending on the school start date and destination you may travel on your own. In such cases you will become informed about this prior to your departure.

When is the departure and when does the preparation course begin?
For students going to the USA the departrue date is planned in accordance with the school start date and therefore also depends on what school you are placed in. The preparation course is adapted to the school start and the first course takes place at the end of July.

The preparation course for students going to France begins the 26 August and this is the departure date for these students. Other students depart in connection to their school start.

Is there STS staff on the flight?
This varies from departure to departure. STS staff accompany the students on all group departures, but in those cases when students travel on their own or if there are only very few students on a certain departure, it may happen that the students go without a so-called escort. All students are met at their final destination, as usual.

How long in advance do I get to know my departure date?
This depends on when your placement is finalized.

How much luggage can I take?
The number of suitcases and their maximum weight vary from airline to airline. STS informs you of valid regulations for your journey closer to the departure.
